The Engineering Council has published its Guide to Professional Registration for 2026–2027, providing the latest guidance on how engineers and technicians can achieve professional registration and demonstrate their commitment to high standards. The guide also brings together information on all Licensed Professional Engineering Institutions (LPEIs) and Professional Affiliates (PAs), helping readers find the organisation that best supports their professional journey.

Engineering Council awards licence to dedicated cyber security body CIISec

New pathway highlights the growing importance of professional competence, ethics and engineering judgment in cyber security. The Engineering Council and the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec) have announced that CIISec has become the first body dedicated to cyber security to be licensed by the Engineering Council to assess candidates for professional registration.

Engineering Council begins review of licensing processes

The Engineering Council has begun a substantive review of our licensing processes, examining how they work from end to end. The review will identify areas where processes may create duplication, ambiguity or unnecessary delay, while drawing on the experience of the organisations that use them in practice.
