In light of growing evidence that the UK is facing a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) skills shortage, the Science and Technology Committee has launched an inquiry into how the skills gap is being addressed. The Committee has called for written evidence on measures that organisations, businesses, schools, colleges and individuals have taken to close the skills gap. These could include, but are not limited to, Apprenticeships, vocational courses, mentoring, teacher placements in industry and establishing links between business and schools/colleges. 

The Committee asks for submissions to include details on what STEM skills were found to be in short supply; how particular skills needs were addressed; the cost of these measures and how they were funded; and the evaluation of any measures or schemes introduced.
