CERTING and the Engineering Council are pleased to announce the formal signing of an Admissions Pathways Agreement that will facilitate professional recognition for qualified engineers between Italy and the United Kingdom.

The Women’s Engineering Society (WES) has announced the winners of its annual Top 50 Women in Engineering awards (WE50) on International Women in Engineering Day (INWED). We at the Engineering Council would like to congratulate the registrants among these exceptional innovators on their incredible achievements.
Dr Fragkoulis Kanavaris CEng CSci CEnv FIMMM FICT CAPM has been awarded the 2026 Hawley Award, which includes a £5,000 cash prize and a medal, at the Engineers Trust Awards Dinner in June. The award honours the most outstanding engineering innovation that delivers demonstrable benefit to the environment and will help to achieve Net Zero Carbon by at least 2050.
The Engineering Council would like to congratulate Christina Jasper IEng MIET, an Aerospace Engineer and Senior Technical Specialist, on receiving the 2026 Baroness Platt of Writtle Award and £1,000 cash prize. The announcement was made at the Engineers Trust Awards Dinner in June and presented by HRH The Princess Royal.
The first Vocational Celebration Day, launched by the Enginuity Group, places a welcome spotlight on skills, opportunity and the future of young people. This national day recognises the value of vocational pathways at a time when GCSE, A level and T level results - due later this month - will shape decisions about progression into further study, apprenticeships and employment.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is at the heart of professional registration. Whatever professional title you hold, or wish to pursue, maintaining competence through CPD is both a requirement and a sign of trust, competence and professionalism in a forward-thinking profession.
