The Women’s Engineering Society (WES) has announced the appointment of Susan Robson MBE as its permanent Chief Executive Officer, following a successful term as Interim CEO since November 2024.

Susan has brought a wealth of experience in inclusion, leadership and organisational development. During her interim tenure, she is credited with having delivered measurable progress across WES’s strategic priorities and strengthened partnerships across the sector.

Following a thorough internal review process, the WES Board of Trustees decided to offer Susan the role permanently. The decision reflects the Board’s confidence in her proven leadership and alignment with the Society’s long-term vision.

Speaking on behalf of the Board of Trustees, WES President, Dr Katherine Critchley, said:

“Susan has not only fulfilled her commitment to strengthening relationships across the organisation and with our partners, but has exceeded our expectations in driving positive change. We are confident that WES is in excellent hands under Susan’s continued leadership.”

The Engineering Council extends its congratulations to Susan Robson MBE on her appointment and looks forward to continued collaboration with WES in promoting diversity, inclusion and excellence across the profession.
