Phil Nelson CEng FIStructE

Phil is the Senior Engineering Manager and Chief Civil and Structural Engineer for Nuvia ltd, which is part of Vinci construction. Based at Risley in Warrington, he is responsible for multi-discipline resourcing and project technical delivery for the design office of over 100+ Engineers and designers. As the Chief Engineer he looks after the company technical knowledge base and governance for structures and civil works. He has over 35 years’ experience of Project Management and Design within the Nuclear industry both as client and contractor, supporting projects in the UK and globally.

Having served the Institution of Structural Engineers at local and national level, over several years, Phil has developed a keen interest in multi-discipline professional development and governance. Phil serves on the professional development panel for the Institution of Structural Engineers and brings that experience to the Engineering Council Board, joining in 2019.
