James Baker CEng FIET

James Baker is the Asset & Engineering Director for London Stansted Airport and is responsible for the lifecycle maintenance of the assets across one of the UK busiest airports.

He started his career as an engineering apprentice and has held numerous senior engineering and operational roles during his career. He has run large engineering & Fleet teams, multiple processing sites and led large business transformation programs over the last thirty years. He is passionate about professional development and professional registration and strives for hundred percent of the engineering community to be recognised for their skills and experience.

He has a master’s degree in engineering and is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, supporting the wider drive to recognise and accredit the professional status of all engineering technicians and managers across UK Industry.

After many years of experience driving professional engineering registration and career development, James uses his knowledge and experience to ensure the benefits which come with registration are available for all technicians and engineering managers across all industries.
