EUR ING Simon Vaitkevicius  CEng FIED

Nominated by Group B institutions

Simon works for BAE Systems as a Principal Engineer and has had a varied career, from Aerospace, mobile phone design and more recently medical moulding, to running his own business specialising in the design of consumer electronic devices and training engineers and designers. He has lectured at several universities, and was awarded the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Visiting Professor title in recognition of his work in the field of linking engineering and academia.

Simon is a EUR ING-registered Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED) where he is a Board member and will take on the role of Vice Chairman in 2024. Simon also sits on the Board of Directors for the British Model Flying Association serving as Technical Director, and is involved with BSI and ISO standards in the area of drawing and technical specifications.

Having previously represented group B&C institutions between 2013 and 2019, Simon is keen to use his second appointment with the Engineering Council to strengthen the relationship between the group B&C institutions and ensure their voice is heard at Board level. He is aware of the issues, challenges and opportunities, and is keen to preserve and grow the institutions he represents.
