Nominations for the virtual Museum of Engineering Innovation
Published: 25/01/2021
The Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) is looking for your nominations for the engineering innovations – and the engineers behind them - you think should be included in their virtual Museum of Engineering Innovation.
First announced on This is Engineering Day 2020, a preview collection is online to show how the museum will work. Over the course of this year, RAEng's ambition is to expand the online collection, and link to these from QR codes (or ‘QRtefacts’) in everyday and unexpected locations across the country.
They’re looking for innovations that broaden public perceptions of engineering, and that make a difference to our everyday lives or solve some of our greatest challenges. RAEng is aiming for a good regional distribution of QR codes and associated exhibits, so innovations from around the UK might be particularly relevant.
The current round of nominations closes on 1 February, but further rounds are expected in the future to continue to grow the collection. Anyone can nominate a potential exhibit and a brief guide on how to nominate is available online.
