The Government has set out its response to Phase 1 of the Grenfell Tower inquiry (published in October 2019). This includes the steps being taken to implement the report’s recommendations at pace as well as wider work on building safety.

The Engineering Council continues to work on implementing the proposals to enhance engineering competence agreed with the professional engineering institutions (PEIs) it licenses and the broader cross-industry Competence Steering Group (CSG).
