Engineers Without Borders launch 2017 opportunities

Engineers Without Borders launch 2017 international opportunities

Published: 02/12/2016

Engineers Without Borders (EWB) UK is looking for talented volunteers to support international projects across nine countries with the launch of their 2017 opportunities. EWB UK provides technical support and skills to projects that enable organisations, people and communities to overcome global challenges such as lack of access to power, clean water and safe shelter.

To achieve this they recruit and support qualified volunteer engineers to work for six or 12 months with their partner organisations. Volunteers have the opportunity to work on impactful development projects that change lives and benefit from an incredible overseas experience. All volunteers receive comprehensive CPD accredited training prior to departure and subsistence grants throughout their placement.

The organisation is also running a Global Engineer Fellowship programme, which places two professional engineers as Senior Fellows and engineering students as Junior Fellows to work on an international project. Senior Fellowships are targeted at individuals interested in strengthening their managerial and mentoring skills with at least two years working experience. Junior Fellowships are targeted at students who want to apply their university skills to learn more about overseas development in a productive and supportive environment.

More information about opportunities and to apply is available at The deadline for applications is midday on 15 January 2017.
