Royal Academy of Engineering launches new Enterprise Hub in Scotland

The Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) has launched a new initiative to support engineering and technology entrepreneurs to start and grow businesses in Scotland.

Enterprise Hub Scotland will help local entrepreneurs to turn problem-solving technology into businesses, create startups from university research, and attract new investments. Located in Glasgow, the Hub is based on similar initiatives from the RAEng in Wales and Northern Ireland.

The new Hub will promote engineering excellence across Scotland and assist local entrepreneurs to address complex environmental, economic, and societal challenges.

Enterprise Hub Scotland will offer programmes for entrepreneurial engineers at different career stages, as well as equity-free funding, training, mentorship and access to networking opportunities.

President of the RAEng, Professor Sir Jim McDonald, said

“Scotland has a proud history of innovation and a rich heritage that underpins its engineering economy today. Opening our first Enterprise Hub in Scotland marks an exciting step in the Academy’s journey to support ambitious, high-potential engineering and deep tech entrepreneurs across the country.”
