Applications are open for the Hawley Award for Engineering Innovation, presented by the Worshipful Company of Engineers through the Engineers Trust.
Established in 2006, the annual award recognises the most outstanding engineering innovation that contributes to achieving net zero carbon by 2050.
The award is open to UK-based engineers and scientists who are early in their careers and members of a recognised professional engineering or science institution. The winner will receive a cash prize of up to £5,000 (for use in furthering their career), an engraved medal and a certificate.
To enter, applicants must demonstrate innovative technology that has reached the prototype or proof of concept stage, with the intention of commercial use. The work must have been carried out after the completion of a postgraduate degree from a recognised UK university, or during postgraduate study.
The deadline for applications is 9 February 2026.
