The Engineering Council would like to congratulate the 28 distinguished registrants who have been elected as Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng).
At its Annual General Meeting on 23 September, the RAEng elected 74 leading figures in the field of engineering and technology to its Fellowship. The group consists of 60 Fellows, nine International Fellows and five Honorary Fellows, each of whom has made exceptional contributions to their field, including pioneering new innovations within academia and business, providing expert advice to Government, and promoting a wider comprehension of engineering and technology.
This year’s new Fellows continue to reflect the RAEng’s ongoing Fellowship Fit for the Future initiative, which encourages nominations of outstanding engineers from underrepresented groups. The initiative focuses on striving for increased representation among women, disabled and LGBTQ+ engineers, minority ethnic backgrounds, non-traditional education paths, and early-career excellence.
Sir John Lazar CBE FREng, President of the RAEng, said:
“Today’s cohort join a community of around 1,700 of some of the most talented engineers and innovators in the UK and around the globe. Their knowledge and experience make them uniquely well placed to tackle the biggest challenges facing the world, and our determination to advance and promote excellence in engineering remains undimmed.”
