International Register of Engineering Technicians (IntETn)

The International Register of Engineering Technicians (IntETn) was established in 2016 by the Agreement for International Engineering Technicians. Each member of the AIET holds its own section of the IntETn register. This is denoted by the addition of a jurisdiction identifier to the IntETn designatory letters.

The Engineering Council is the UK member of the AIET.

Who can apply for IntETn registration?
The IntETn(UK) qualification is open to Engineering Technicians who are registered with the Engineering Council and who meet the following requirements:

How to apply for IntETn(UK)

Renewal
Registration is renewable every five years at a fee of £60, and requires demonstration of continued responsibility for significant engineering work and CPD for the period.

The Engineering Council and its fellow AIET members are pursuing the possibility of future mutual recognition of professional titles, which would further enhance the benefits of which would further enhance the benefits of IntETn(UK) qualification.

IntETn coming to the UK
If you have gained your IntETn qualification from another AIET jurisdiction, you can apply for professional registration as an Engineering Technician.

To do this, the first step is to become a member of one of the UK’s professional engineering institutions.

In recognition of the professional standing of IntETn, the Engineering Council allows a streamlined application process consisting of minimal scrutiny of qualifications and professional development.

Some professional engineering institutions may have additional membership requirements to this streamlining.
