Nominations for the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering are now open

Published: 21/04/2020

Nominations for the 2021 Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering (QEPrize) are now open around the world. The £1 million prize is the world’s most prestigious engineering accolade, awarded to up to five engineers responsible for a bold, groundbreaking engineering innovation of global benefit to humanity.

Engineering has propelled us from our first use of stone tools to an era of artificial intelligence and space travel. From smartphones and fashion to medicine and energy, engineers revolutionised the way we live and will play a pivotal role in addressing the challenges of our future. The QEPPrize is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate them for it.

The QEPrize seeks a breadth of nominations from around the world and the Engineering Council is pleased to take part in this. We’ve been asked to help ensure that this message reaches and inspires people around the world, so that the individuals who have transformed our lives get the recognition they deserve.

The only limitations are that self-nomination and posthumous nomination are not allowed.

So celebrate the engineers who have changed our world by making your nomination on the QEPrize website
