Families can visit a host of iconic venues across the country for the second Engineering Open House Day, on 29 July 2016. The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has again joined forces with some of the UK's most celebrated engineering and technology organisations to provide a rare opportunity for families to go behind the scenes.

The day is open to all parents and children, not just IET members. By having the opportunity to visit participating venues, families can witness first-hand the creativity and excitement behind engineering careers. It is designed to be an educational, fun day to highlight the important roles that engineers play in everyday life and to encourage parents to support their children in choosing careers in engineering and technology.

Venues for 2016 include Sky, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Wellcome Collection, ITN and Shell, among many more. The list of venues can be found here
