Industrial strategy survey

Last chance to give views in industrial strategy survey

Published: 07/03/2017

The UK engineering profession is preparing a collective response following the publication of the government’s green paper Building our Industrial Strategy. An online survey is gathering opinions and ideas from engineers to inform this response. The survey will be available until midday on Monday, 13 March. Please click to take the survey.

The Royal Academy of Engineering is co-ordinating the profession’s response on behalf of 38 national engineering organisations, including the Engineering Council, through the Engineering the Future (EtF) policy group. Please click for more information about EtF.

In the green paper, government set out its vision for a modern industrial strategy and identified ten pillars that it believes are key to enabling stronger productivity and driving growth. These are science, research and innovation; skills; infrastructure; business growth and investment; procurement; trade and investment; affordable energy; sectoral policies; driving growth across the whole country; and creating the right institutions to bring together sectors and places. Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is running an open consultation on its green paper, which will close on 17 April 2017. For more details please click here
