Former Engineering Council CEO Jon Prichard honoured with King’s Volunteer Reserves Medal

The Engineering Council would like to congratulate former Engineering Council CEO and Chartered Engineer, Colonel Jon Prichard KVRM CEng CEnv FICE FInstRE, who has been honoured with the King’s Volunteer Reserves Medal.
The King's Volunteer Reserves Medal (KVRM), originally the Queen's Volunteer Reserves Medal (QVRM), was established by Queen Elizabeth II in 1999. It is awarded to members of the British Armed Forces Volunteer Reserves for outstanding service.
Jon was awarded the medal in recognition of 22 years of outstanding contribution to the Army Reserve by HRH the Princess Royal in a ceremony held at Buckingham Palace in December on behalf of HM the King.
Jon’s remarkable career began with 20 years of service as a regular Royal Engineer officer before becoming Director of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) in 2001. He went on to lead several prominent organisations, including the Engineering Council in 2010, the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) in 2017, and the Mineral Products Association in 2022. In addition to his leadership roles, Jon has volunteered as a Trustee/Director for several respected bodies, including Construction Industry Council (CIC), Society for the Environment (SocEnv), Engineers Europe (formerly FEANI), Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), and Engineers Without Borders UK.
Since 2003, Jon has also served as Acting Adjutant/Chief of Staff of the Staff Corps, a position he continues to hold today.
