The shortlist for the 2016 WISE Awards has been published and winners will be announced at a ceremony in November.
The WISE Awards showcase remarkable women and men whose stories are not widely known but who are changing the face of science, technology and engineering in the UK. The judges look for people who have inspired others to follow in their footsteps, whether it be girls choosing maths, physics, computing or engineering, women trying something different or companies taking action to ensure that women do their best work and thrive. The awards also celebrate WISE members, supporters and campaigners. Categories include the Hero Award, Rising Star Award, Research Award, Employer Award, Man of the Year and Woman of the Year, among others.
The ceremony is taking place on 10 November at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. The full shortlist can be viewed by following this link: 2016 WISE Awards shortlist
The WISE Campaign works to inspire girls and women to study and build careers using science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). It advises organisations on how to create environments where those women can develop and thrive. More information is available at www.wisecampaign.org.uk/about-us
