These awards demonstrate IMechE's support for apprentices and Engineering Technicians (EngTechs), recognising their achievements and contributions to the engineering sector, industry and wider economy.

The EngTech of the Year Award is open to EngTech registrants from any professional body, who must demonstrate outstanding commitment to their professional development and show how they have made a positive difference to their organisation. They should show how they have made a significant contribution to encouraging young people into an engineering career.

This contribution could include working within a school or with a group of pupils, a youth group, mentoring work experience placements or other promotional activities. It is expected that the activity is a long-term initiative and will continue into the future. Entrants must also show a career plan for the next three to five years.

The winner will receive a prize of £2,000 and two years free IMechE EngTech Membership.

You can nominate yourself but must be supported by a sponsor who can vouch for the accuracy of the submission. Alternatively, applications can be nominated by a sponsor from your company or a company/group which has benefitted from your involvement; in either case the nomination must be signed by the sponsor.
