IMechE has reported on a study that reveals an engineering degree significantly boosts lifetime earnings.
According to the study of 2,042 UK adults, the increase in earnings from an engineering degree (compared to lifetime wages for people with no degree and a minimum of five A-C grade GCSEs) is more than £32,000 above the average increase from having a degree.
External salary survey data also indicates that professionally registered engineers and technicians report higher average salaries than their unregistered colleagues.
