EngTechs enthuse about Apprenticeships

EngTechs talk about their Apprenticeship experiences

In the spirit of National Apprenticeship Week earlier this year, the Engineering Council has been speaking to several former apprentices about their respective experiences and their journey to becoming professionally registered as Engineering Technicians (EngTech):

Newly registered EngTech Bethany Holroyd is a Civil Engineering Technician working in the Scottish Highlands. Speaking about Apprenticeships, she says: “I truly believe they are the way forward. For me, doing one was one of the best decisions I’ve made.” Bethany Holroyd
Barry Durrand Plumbing and Heating Manager Barry Durrand manages a team at Sparks Mechanical Services in Aberdeen. He believes the hands-on experience gained from an Apprenticeship is a great way to start a career in the industry and adds: “For me, the greatest benefit has been that my Apprenticeship helped me to become professionally registered with the Engineering Council.”
Professional Development Manager Steven Gasser is a former apprentice and now works on the recruitment and development of apprentices for his firm. He says: “You see and learn so much and do it all in the protected environment of a development framework.”   Steven Gasser
