Registration Protocol

The process that will be followed by participating professional engineering institutions (PEI) is set out in a Registration Protocol.

Broadly this sets out the stages in the registration process for the registration of candidates enrolled on a programme at a participating university.

The Protocol relates to the 'interim' period before there is sufficient output from the programme for the PEI to confer accreditation of the academic programme and is intended to facilitate recognition of participants who start the programme during this interim period.

It provides them with an assurance from the PEI that by following this model of integrated education and supervised work-based professional development, rather than an established route, they will not be precluded from applying for Professional Review.
