Engineering Institutions
Registration as a professionally qualified engineer requires
membership of a UK professional engineering institution (PEI) that
is licensed to assess candidates for registration.
When deciding to enroll on one of these Engineering Council
supported programmes, participants need to decide which of the PEIs
they wish to join. Some participants may be student or graduate
members already.
It is a condition of the programme that all participants join a
PEI at the appropriate grade of membership.
The HEI provides the participant with documentation to send to
their chosen PEI confirming that they are embarking on an
individually designed programme supported by Engineering
Council.
The institutions involved are listed here and more are likely to
join.
*Initial partner PEIs, involved in the development phase.
**ICE would normally expect to see that candidates using this
process are registered on a formal ICE approved training scheme so
that they have access to an approved Supervising Civil Engineer and
regular support from the local Membership Development Officer.
A full list of all the PEIs
licensed by the Engineering Council can be found here.
