The Work-Based Route to Professional Qualification

The MSc Professional Engineering and the Bachelors programme in Professional Engineering have been devised as part of the Engineering Council DIUS-funded Gateways Project, Flexible Pathways to becoming a Professional Engineer.

The courses provide a pathway to professional qualification as Chartered Engineer (MSc) and Incorporated Engineer (Bachelor) through work-based learning.

This new flexible work-based route enables you to gain the necessary academic qualifications and develop the required competence for professional qualification without needing to leave employment.

Full details of the MSc and Bachelors in Professional Engineering can be found on our Engineering Gateways website.

A detailed interim evaluation of the engineering gateways model has been carried out, involving the key stakeholders, and a report of the findings can be found under useful links.
