Hi, I am Thierry. I am a Process Engineer in a Production System Optimisation Team for Brunei Shell Petroleum , Brunei Darussalam. My role typically covers engineering and offshore facility development related to production system optimisation and maximizing oil & gas production. I also provide process engineering support to our offshore operation and project activities. I have also been a Process Design Engineer with experience in upstream and downstream processes - conceptual design, detailed design, concept selection study, process system study & analysis, steady state modeling and dynamic modeling.

As a young engineer, now 26, I very much enjoy the

challenges in my work which are often related to application of new technology, operation, design, project management and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment).

In 2002 I graduated from UMIST ( University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology), UK with a BEng(Hons) in Chemical Engineering where I received a Shell Scholarship for my undergraduate study. Currently I am undertaking an MSc in Petroleum Engineering with Heriot-Watt University , UK via distance learning. Although it is a lot of hard work it already has proven to be beneficial in my career.

Finally I have just recently become registered with the Engineering Council, UK as an EngTech. This is important, as it is a formal external professional recognition to my profession. Of course, it also looks good on my CV. I think this will help in my plan to gain Chartered status in the future.

I would definitely recommend joining ECUK for professional recognition, especially to young engineers.
