My name is David Millar and I am currently Managing
Director of NST Welding (UK) Ltd, and recently I have been awarded Chartered
Engineer Status in conjunction with The Welding Institute (TWI) in Cambridge.

I have worked in welding all of my working life (28
years) and have always had the position of Chartered Engineer status very
clearly in my sights.
Having started my career
as a Shipyard Welding apprentice I soon got a thirst to develop my
qualifications and over the following years undertook various City & Guilds
qualifications and other training courses suitable for my employment.
On completion of my apprenticeship I
undertook various positions within the Shipbuilding industry (NDE Technician,
Section leader NDE, Quality Control Mgr, Welding Engineering Mgr) and at each
stage of promotion I ensured my technical qualifications were in harmony with
my job.

Licentiateship of the
City & Guilds.
Diploma in Welding
Engineering
Diploma in Management
studies (DMS)
Lead assessor with BSI
Master of Philosophy
Degree - Strathclyde University .

Welding Engineer.

Engineer.
My job involves providing
technical Welding Engineering assistance to customers all over the world, and
it is critical that my technical ability is supported with the correct
qualifications, and in my opinion having the designation CEng is the ultimate
mark of a professional Engineer.
